The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist.
Information cannot be disclosed without written permission. Exceptions include:
If there is suspected child, dependent adult or elder abuse which is required by law to report. The appropriate authorities will be contacted immediately.
If there is threatening of serious bodily harm to another individual. The police will be notified and the intended victim informed of the situation.
If a client intends to harm themselves, every effort will be made to enlist their cooperation to ensure their safety. If they do not cooperate, measures will be taken without their consent provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.
